Pure Baby Boy

Here's what's been keeping me so busy the past couple of weeks - my first design for Moda Bake Shop. Head on over for a free tutorial to make your own simple, modern baby quilt. It makes good use of a jelly roll and just 1 3/4 yards of other fabric, so you can create an affordable gift. It is also put together using strip piecing, so it's super quick. Above is a closeup of the back - also strip pieced. I think it would be gorgeous as a scrap quilt - hmmm...I know so, since I've already pieced it! I'm going to make this one extra special with hand quilting with perle cotton.

Yay for things for boys! (I have three.) This is perfect timing because I need to make a quilt for a baby boy arriving in September.

One of the things I like about Moda Bake Shop is that I find great blogs there. You seem to have one!

I saw this on moda and loved it and already added it in the "to do" bookmark. And then when I scrolled down and saw who it was by, I was doubly excited to try it. I love the quilt and congrats!

Hi :O)

I found you quilt at Moda bake shop, and fell in love with it at once!!

Lucky me, a little nephew was born on Sunday afternoon, so I just started picking fabrics right away. I used a lot of scraps ;o)

I sewed it together on Monday, put all the three layers together yesterday and tomorrow I will attempt the quilting ;O)

I have blogged about it on my blog and the final result will be out as soon as the binding is done!! I have also linked to your tutorial.

Thank you for a wonderful and elegant design!!

Yvonne
