I saw Jacey's blocks on instagram and got an itch to sew with my scraps. My scrap bin of random width strips has been over flowing for a while now, so this project will be good for scrap management.
The blocks (maybe called 3/4 log cabin blocks since they are just missing one side) are sewn improvisationally and trimmed to 9 x 12.
I've got 15 so far. I think I have enough scraps strips to sew a few more, don't you think? The pile wouldn't even fit in the frame, and it doesn't seem to have diminished in the slightest. The magical procreation of scraps.

Beautiful blocks - they make me think of Springtime
Love these blocks. I was thinking of doing some of these 3/4 blocks on a much smaller scale. Yours are great fun tho!
These are so neat! Though I will admit to having never liked log cabin blocks (yes, I know that's very unquilty-nice of me), this abbreviated version is much more appealing. I don't have a lot of strips on hand, but could probably come up with enough pieces to make them. Wonder what they'd look like with a different fabric on each of the three sides? Hmm. In any case, I do love a good scrap quilt, and will add this one to my list of "future quilt designs to try." Thank you for sharing!
They look like fireplaces to me. Maybe set them together with some solid yellow sashing?
