Pieced Quilt Top

I finished piecing the top of my latest baby quilt. It is from the Stacked Coins Baby Quilt pattern by Crazy Mom designed for the Moda Bake Shop which you can find here. It uses just two charm packs and some sashing. What appeals to me about the pattern is:

1. you can use all the lovely fabrics from a designer line without spending a lot of money
2. you have very minimal cutting to do (just cut each charm in half in this case)
3. there is no time spent picking out coordinating fabrics since they are all from a single line and come in a pack already (great if you have two little ones to haul along on any shopping trip)

All this means you can sit down and sew sooner!

I like how it is turning out. I used Moda's Aviary line of fabrics. Now I'm pondering how to quilt it. I'd like to try doing it on the machine, but my attempts at free motion stippling have been less than stellar, so I'll need to do straight lines or a traced on design. Ideas?

Chic Checkbook Case

So here's a quick project that is both beautiful and useful - my favorite kind! Check out the great tutorial by Crazy Mom for this checkbook case. I made mine with yet another scrap of the Amy Butler fabric my darling siter-in-law gave me. Thanks again!
