You can see I went in another direction with the quilting after the tension distaster. I'm happy I did. I like the look of the combine straight stitching with the decorative stitch. Im not giving up on free motion though. Thanks for all your suggestions! I 'll be doing some experiments on test squares this week.

I love the way you quilted this! It's perfect. Love that binding too.
It's lovely! I know just how frustrating it is to have the tension mess up for free motion. For me, it was the dial that sets the pressure on the presser foot that was set too high (which was adjusted by the service tech at the sewing shop - and I didn't notice it until I was trying to free motion quilt - it was an easy fix, thankfully).
