The top has been sitting in my closet for a few months now, and now that it's done I don't know why I waited so long to finish it. I love it! This is going to be my very own quilt to snuggle up on the couch with. 44 x 57 is just the right size.
Didn't quite get the back to line up the way I had hoped. Also, note to self - don't do a seriously pieced back when there are already tons of seams on the top of the quilt to deal with!

I made the quilt from parts of two honey buns. You can read more about the process here, here, here, and here.
I love it! After my failed attempt at potholders, I know now that quilting straight lines on a sewing machine isn't easy!!! You did great!
ReplyDeleteit looks great! I love Neptune!
ReplyDeleteI love how this turned out!! The quilting in the white sets it off so nicely!
ReplyDeleteWow! That turned out great! The blues and greens are so soothing. Love the quilting you did on it too and the cute pieces in the back.

The quilting is fabulous! As I was scrolling down this post, I got to the picture of the back and thought "WOW! The center diamond is perfectly fit in the diamond of the quilting!" Then I scrolled down and saw "Didn't quite get the back to line up the way I had hoped." Maybe it doesn't look like you hoped, but I'm still wildly impressed :)

ReplyDeleteIt turned out beautifully! I especially love the back of it. My 'straight' quilting is always a little off. I call them 'character lines.' :-)

ReplyDeleteI love it, I love it, I love it!! What a great design and a great fabric line! I'm working on a zig-zag quilt in smiliar colors for my bed....I may have to pick up some of this to make something else for me!!!
ReplyDeleteYour quilting is great too! and I really like the back.
Can I ask what is you background - I know white, but was it bleached white, or pfd white? I am about to do a swoon quilt in Neptune and really like how your background pops. Love the addition of the solids.
ReplyDeleteSorry, no pattern is available. But it is simple enough to make with 1.5 in wide strips sewn into stripsets then into half square triangles.
