My quilt was inspired by an image of an art installation of hanging origami cubes. I love how the light hits them and how it illuminates different angles of each cube, as they twist and face different directions. I tried to create the illusion of depth with specific color placement in each paper pieced block.
I used 20 different Kona solids. Aren't they gorgeous?

ReplyDeleteWonderful quilt; I LOVE paper piecing and this one is going on my "must make" list. All the Kona colors (new and old) are beautiful and the use of the gray background in your quilt makes them all pop. The pinks and purples are absolutely luscious! Pomegranate is especially eye-catching.

I know I have bought from Kaufman many times but I don't have a favorite. It depends on my mood when I'm shopping or the project I have in mind. When I get home the fabrics may get used in other quilts. Your quilt really sparkles!

ReplyDeleteOooh... so hard to decide on a favourite. I have to agree with you and say that Silver has been making an appearance in many projects lately, displacing my usual Ash. But I am a sucker for those tropical blues like Caribbean, Breakers, and Robin Egg! :)
